Whistles: Trunk Show and Champagne Lunch at The Savoy

Whistles showcases their A/W 2011 collection at the Savoy. Jane Shepherdson, CEO of Whistles, was there for the show and looks amazing in a Whistles blazer. 

Wow, what a long way Whistles has come since Jane took over in 2008.

For Spring/Summer 2012 the catwalks were awash with molten metals and strong pastel hues. I love the gold leaf effect used on hair and eyes.

Slicked back molten gold hair, Liz Taylor tribute and bold scribbley aztec prints, Topshop Unique SS12 was a surprise. With gold being prominent in the collection black was also a dominant element with Christopher Kane-esque structured dresses. My favourite look was the spidery black all-in-one that draws on Mark Fast's signature thread pattern skintight dresses. 

Wowza. Not one for the faint-hearted. 

LFW: Clements Ribeiro

Clements Ribeiro at LFW - beautiful floral floaty prints and wedge platforms is a faultless Spring/Summer formula. With wispy hair, this collection reminds me of a washed out, more whimsical Spring/Summer 2011 Erdem. Paisley pyjama, Liberty style prints look set to take off next summer.

NYFW: Preen

Muted kaleidoscope at Preen with dark tans and white strappy sandals and orange detailing. A sucker for pastels, pixellated pale colour is my idea of a fine Spring/Summer collection. Love the girls' 40s twists in their hair - a hark back to Autumn/Winter 2011 trends. Also love the candy coloured slacks and plasticky sheer shirts. This is one collection to watch trickle into the high street next summer.

Copycat: grown out roots

NYFW: The Row

White silks and crochet from US duo Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's brand, The Row. With a Japanese feel, the collection displayed pyjama pants and obi belts. Minimalism was key for this range, with a bare catwalk and simple soundtrack, all attention was drawn to the clothes.
