And the pink obsession continues...

Yesterday I went to the VOGUE trend talk - they do this every news season for industry [PRs etc] - and Emily Sheffield, Deputy Editor, was telling us how pink is the new colour of AW13. Good thing, then, that it is my favourite colour. Emily told us how she hopes to invest in a pair of dusky pink New Balance trainers for the autumn winter season [how amazing do they sound?!]; while Emma Elwick, Style Editor, told us how she'd wear a hazy pink cardigan 'slung over my shoulders'.

My obsession just isn't abating. I recently bought this beautiful pink pleated dress from TOPSHOP which I think will look beautiful with a little neon belt and 1950s style pointed pumps.

I think pleats look beautiful in pink and really bring out this 'new feminine' that the VOGUE girls were talking about. It's a sharp clashing of opposites - a chunky marl sweater with a hazy pink lace skirt, for example. Or bold CĂ©line-style shopping bag checks, offset with downbeat shades.

TOPSHOP do some gorgeous pink pieces, including this silk slip from Topshop Boutique. Effortlessly chic layered over a pair of ACNE or Joseph leather trousers

Pink doesn't only work on clothes, but can extend to accessories. The nude shoe needn't be all 'Kate'; Jimmy Choo offers an elegant tagliatelle twist strap heel.

Lance Patent Leather Strappy Sandals

And finally, Martha Ward's pretty Valentino pointy pumps with gold stud detail.

Pink perfection!
