Bastille/Oberkampf vintage shopping.

Vintage shopping in Bastille/Oberkampf (to be done in this order)...

Come off at Bastille métro (exit Rue de la Roquette).

Adom, 56 Rue de la Roquette, 75011
A small shop with another one of the same brand en face packed full of vintage bits and bobs. Nothing different, generic vintage shop. Anything I did like was overpriced and I put it back immediately.

Come On Eileen, 16 Rue des Taillandiers, 75011
A treasure trove on three levels tucked away down this little street off Rue de la Roquette. A delightful shop lady who is very keen to help. The top floor has rails and rails of Chloé, Chanel, Marni and many stunning vintage ball gowns all at very reasonable prices. The second floor has a sea of vintage converse and vintage jeans all helpfully ordered by size. The bottom floor is an ocean of men's beige trench coats (yes, there's Burberry), designer everything and more ball gowns. There is also a great selection of vintage footwear (though small sizes), furs and leather items. This is the best vintage store I've found in Paris. Its reasonable prices are a result of its 'off the beaten track' location and everything has obviously been carefully picked. I picked up a vintage Sonia Rykiel suit jacket in palest dusty pink from here and the lady even gave me a price reduction!

La Petite Fripe, 118 Rue Oberkampf, 75011
A tiny little vintage store where the walls, rails (and ceiling practically!) are filled with vintage bits. Dresses for 15 euros and a good selection of accessories, definitely worth a look.

This is the area to shop - careful selections and without the steep unjustified prices of the tourist-ridden Marais. Also a gorgeous selection of antiquités and brocante off Rue Oberkampf on rue Jacquard.
