LFW: the round up
This year’s London Fashion Week heralded the very best of British fashion with the most exciting collections to date. Across the shows, sharp and graphic prints were abound, with the likes of Peter Pilotto, Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou raising the bar. Acne put on a show of brightness with models strutting down the catwalk in luxurious burgundy leather and traffic light shades of acid green, red and burnt yellow.
Trends set to stay for AW12 include urban military at Topshop Unique, Margaret Howell and McQueen and winter cyber florals at Peter Pilotto, Chistopher Kane and Erdem. In true patriotic spirit, London’s designers explored the heritage of the British Isles at Daks, Mulberry and Paul Smith, while lavender shades were prominent at Peter Jensen, Louise Gray and Jonathan Saunders and cubic prints made a dramatic entrance at Clements Ribeiro , Roksanda Ilincic and JW Anderson.Burberry Prorsum stole the show in Hyde Park with an enormous temporary greenhouse space, with fashion’s favourites Clemence Poésy, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Burberry model and Birdsong star Eddie Redmayne, gracing the red carpet. The magnificent catwalk show culminated in a reverberating faux thunderstorm, where torrents of water rained down on the venue as Burberry’s models, led by the industry’s new sweetheart Cara Delevingne, sashayed down the catwalk in trenchcoats and umbrellas under a rain of iridescent flakes.
As usual, eyes weren’t solely on the catwalk and in true London style, the fashion pack were out in force. Somerset House was ablaze with paparazzi flashes as bloggers, editors and revered fashionistas posed for street style snaps. Micro trends from the week included outfit palettes of bold primary colours and the hitherto avoided baseball cap.
The fashion crowd do not appear to have given up their love of fluoro and ombré hair dye trends, with a plethora of rainbow shades seen on the cobbles of Somerset House.

LFW: Topshop Unique AW12 Stand to attention
Stand to attention! Topshop Unique AW12 is the label's best collection yet. With Birdsong a recent memory, Unique dictates a uniform of khaki for Autumn/Winter 2012, with plenty of luxe berry and navy hues, leather detailing, oversized knits and an overwhelming feel of Christopher Bailey at Burberry as inspiration .
This season will be all about military with a splash of Balmain-esque luxe metal. And finally, those black ankle boots are set to be sell out.

Lust List: Mulberry Bayswater in Fuschia
Just spotted this a-mazing fuschia Mulberry Bayswater on Cupcakes and Cashmere that Emily was gifted!? What a lucky girl - I love this hot pink shade for spring/summer 2012 and have always been a fan of the classic Bayswater handbag.
While speaking of Cupcakes and Cashmere - this is a blog that you must check out, with inspiration from interior design to fashion to mouth-wateringly delicious recipes and delightful arts and crafts.
Focus on: Marni for H&M
Marni have teamed up with H&M to launch a new designer collaboration in the international high street store. Award-winning Sofia Coppola directed the ad campaign, an atmospheric video featuring Imogen Poots and filmed in Morocco to a backing track of Avalon by Bryan Ferry.
J'adore les macarons!
Basil and lime, chocolate and lemon curd macaroons made by the lovely Chloe. A truly delicious dessert to end a wonderful dinner party this weekend.
