How to dress for a British summer wedding?

It's the question on everyone's lips. With weather this unpredictable, finding an outfit to wear to a wedding can be more of a stress than a pleasure.

I've pulled together a selection of my favourite looks from British occasions and catwalks (Jonathan Saunders SS14 and Erdem SS11).

One of my favourite brands for occasionwear is Beulah London, who have an extensive range of beautiful silk dresses, suitable for wedding wear. They even have an amazing wedding dress, the Jasmine. 

Lulu Frost is also great for wedding guest jewellery, a very quick and easy way to glam up something you've had for a while. 

Finally, I can't get enough of Charlotte Olympia's gorgeous range of satin pumps in varying heel heights - perfect for matching to your outfit!

Inspiration: Mellow Yellow

Today I discovered a new source of inspiration, Topshop Tumblr. Now, I know this has been around for some time and I regularly see Topshop snapshot on the Facebook newsfeed, but hadn't yet come across the Tumblr site. 

It's pages and pages of fashion inspiration from accessory shots to pieces modelled by Topshop's own ladies at Head Office.  Here are just a couple of snapshots that caught my eye, with yellow forming a running theme.

Beat the rain...!

I am in love with this Zara leather shopping tote, £79.99 and available to buy here. I tried it out in store the other day and it is like a huge bucket to throw things in. A colleague at work also owns this in black and the shiny black leather looks so smart. It comes with a short handle and a longer one to put over your shoulder to make it versatile.

This was my end of year Ball dress, the one I posted not long ago, which I snapped up in H&M for £15 in the sale! I cinched it in with an Accessorize belt, £8, Topshop earrings, £7.50, a Topshop necklace and an old Topshop gold clutch.

It was an amazing evening with a Rule Britannia theme including personalised minis, Wimbledon room, coconut shy, brass band and much more.

Georgia, of Dora's Fur, has an amazing eclectic hippie style that reminds me of long summer nights. She knows how to layer and I love her trailing dresses and kaftans. I think the current Topshop collections Snake Valley and New Age Constellation perfectly sum up her style...

Red or Dead?

Red is hot this season, appearing all over the catwalks, 'red' carpets and high street shops. Is it easy to pull off though? January Jones looks stunning in red-hot Versace at the Golden Globes and I love Topshop Unique, Calvin Klein, Lanvin and Erdem's (clockwise) interpretation of the colour wave also.

Tomato red lips were strong at Gucci on a palette of barely-there make up. On the high street you can pick up this red suede biker jacket at Topshop or this red handbag at LK Bennett.

On New Year's Eve it is almost essential to wear sequins, in my book anyway...! I'm going to pair my sequin top with cropped black trousers and black patent peep toes.

Le réveillon, il est impératif (selon moi!) de porter des paillettes! Je vais mettre un haut en paillettes avec un pantalon court et des talons ouverts en cuir verni.
