Kate Moss fluo

Kate Moss shot by Mario Testino for Vogue Brazil, May 2011

I love Kate Moss. I also love the fluo colours of this editorial, whenever it comes to summer I like to indulge in soft neon colours and often bold floral prints, which look amazing with a strong tan like Kate has here. Pastel fluos look really good offset with white or navy blue and tan footwear - wedges being ideal.

Copycat: white trend

Topshop Premium £36
How gorgeous are these white lace shorts from Topshop Premium. Their length means they will provide a decent cover up for daily wear and will flatter most leg shapes. They would also look lovely with a long t shirt layered over the top, letting the lace peek out at the bottom. You can buy them here for £36.

They fit in beautifully with the white (lace and crochet) trend that was all over the catwalks this season, see my 'It's all white' blog post here.

Emmanuelle Alt in flares

Look d'Emmanuelle Alt : En jean flare - emmanuelle alt redactrice en chef vogue paris france jean flare look style

You know that change is afoot when ultimate skinny jean queen (and Editor-in-Chief of Paris Vogue) dons a pair of bootleg flares. In line with the 1970s trend dominating Spring/Summer collections everywhere, the bootleg has become a wardrobe staple again and deep, dark indigo is the Fashion Editors' style of choice. However, Alt is not the only one to adopt this trend; Kate Moss and Olivia Palermo have been spotted in bootleg cuts and they look great.

Does this mean then that bootleg flares are best suited to the spindly legs of the fashion famous? In fact, bootleg jeans are one of the only fits that look good on anyone (I know that much from my stint at Gap) and are especially flattering in dark navy. I particularly like this dark pair from Topshop, £42.

Alt's first Vogue cover

Vogue Paris April 2011
Emmanuelle Alt's first ever Vogue cover as Editor-in-Chief. Can't wait to have a look at what it has to offer! Gisele looks elegantly beautiful in this image and I love the use of white. It looks elegant, crisp and simple; although I do think the clean lines make it look a bit more British Vogue than Paris Vogue...

Vogue & Winslet

:Latest Vogue cover - April 2011
Kate Winslet covers the latest cover of British Vogue and doesn't she look beautiful? It's a new look for a new chapter. She looks almost Evangelista-like.

Marant gone Mid-West

Defined by Navajo prints, heavy ponchos and fringed boots, Marant's Autumn Winter 2011 collection evokes 'American Indians gone mid-West' (vogue.com).

Emmanuelle Alt's first Vogue cover

Emmanuelle Alt
(I Want To Be a Roitfeld)
Vogue UK have confirmed that Gisele Bundchen will cover the first Paris Vogue under new Editor-in-Chief, Emmanuelle Alt. This issue will hit the shelves in early March and I'm not alone in my anticipation to see what she's done with the publication.

Paris Vogue editors seem to take on a kind of mythical, authoritative status. What they say is cool, goes and is widely accepted. Alt's first Vogue cover is her chance to prove that she is up to the job and will carry on the Roitfeld legacy in true, Parisian style.

When asked how she chose Gisele, Alt replied, "It was just a spontaneous decision...There was no question."

The April front cover will show Gisele in St Barts wearing Dolce & Gabbana.

"I hope you like it," she says, and I'm sure we will!

After 10 years of service, Roitfeld steps down as editor in chief of Paris Vogue having contributed a lot to the magazine. Now it'll be exciting to see who fills her shoes!

Après 10 ans de service, Roitfeld quitte Vogue Paris, elle a contribué énormément au magazine. Désormais il sera très intéressant de voir qui la remplace!

I love the art direction in this issue. Based on stars, it is very festive and perfect for the party season.

Lanvin 4 H&M.

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

"It was an exercise for me to understand what is the relationship between high fashion and fast fashion. Ninety five per cent of women cannot afford [Lanvin], so let them have a taste," says Elbaz. "It's like if I was living in a palace and opened some doors and said, 'Have tea with me, taste the food.' It's not about giving away something that belonged to someone else; it's about sharing."  (Vogue.com)

Mulberry Party @ Vogue's Fashion Night Out

The Mulberry party in Selfridges was wonderful! We sipped Pop Champagne in mini bottles ate Mulberry printed cookies and listened to a DJ (unfortunately missed La Roux's set earlier in the evening).

Swing while you're winning.

I'm loving everything sixties at the moment! I love this shot of Anna Kuznetsova by Elina Kechicheva and the spread of eras in this Vogue Germany editorial is wonderful, I particularly like the sixties shifts and.footwear. This editorial is going to inspire my wardrobe for Autumn/Winter 2010.

GILT-Y PLEASURES.

Source: Vogue UK, June 2002

Photographers: Mert & Marcus

Everybody knows that dark skin, metallics and nude lips works best at summer time; but Kate smoulders in this editorial. The bird necklace in the first image looks almost edible with its gilded surface.
