NYFW: Join the J.Crew for SS14

Drawing on fashion hits from spring summer just gone [note the return of midi skirts, slogan tees, statement trousers, neons, cross-body bags and lace up heels], J.Crew came back with a bang for SS14.

The icing on the cake was a shoe collaboration with British darling Sophia Webster – a match made in sartorial heaven.

Cool casuals, bases of nudes with splashes of colour at New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2012. 

NYFW: Preen

Muted kaleidoscope at Preen with dark tans and white strappy sandals and orange detailing. A sucker for pastels, pixellated pale colour is my idea of a fine Spring/Summer collection. Love the girls' 40s twists in their hair - a hark back to Autumn/Winter 2011 trends. Also love the candy coloured slacks and plasticky sheer shirts. This is one collection to watch trickle into the high street next summer.

Topshop Chicago opens

With the 30,000 sqm Topshop store opening in Chicago tomorrow at 10am, 3 years after it first opened in New York, I thought it was the perfect time to celebrate the very best of Topshop through a series of defining moments. 

1. Kate Moss's business venture with Sir Philip Green, an idea that transformed into a fashion empire.

2. Topshop opens in New York in the Autumn of 2008; taking edgy, British fashion across the pond.

3. Former CEO of Topshop Jane Shepherdson's legacy that is Topshop restyled.

4. THAT dress. Enough said.

5. Topshop Unique's show in Waterloo station during London Fashion Week SS 2011, in September 2010. I was lucky enough to be there working behind the scenes!

Taste New York

Back in England somewhat jet-lagged (I learnt from a French girl in NY that it's le décalage horaire in French...) In New York we checked out Topshop (smaller than I imagined), Carrie Bradshaw's house, a gorgeous vintage shop called Pippin Vintage (which I will do a post about later), a show on Broadway...I tried Starbucks' new 'apple caramel' drink, ate New York cheesecake and we flew over Manhattan in a helicopter!

My Jovonna pleated skirt (posted about here) finally arrived today, can't wait to try it out on a sunny day!

Enfin retournée en Angleterre, mais je suis touchée par le décalage horaire...! À New York on a rendu visite à Topshop (plus petit que j'ai imaginé!), l'appart de Carrie Bradshaw, un petit magasin trop mignon 'Pippin Vintage' (bientôt un post là-dessus!), un spectacle à Broadway…J’ai essayé la nouvelle boisson ‘caramel-pomme’, j’ai gouté le cheesecake de New York et on a pris un vol en hélicoptère au dessus de Manhattan !

Enfin ! Ma jupe ‘Jovonna’ est arrivée aujourd’hui (voir ici) vivement une journée toute belle pour la porter !
