This editorial really makes me want it to be real summertime. We had a glimpse of it a week or so ago in Paris, but now back to the grey chill I thought had left.

It's true, the Eiffel Tower is synonymous with the city of Paris. No visit can be made without at least a glimpse of the protruding spire wherever you are in the city. It makes itself known. And the view from the top is just unbeatable.

I have just 2 and a half weeks left in Paris...I don't know where the time has gone! I really don't want to leave, but I am looking forward to spending some time in London and then at home over the summer. 


It seems like a split second since I first arrived in Paris, bamboozled by the lights and hopelessly foreign. Now it feels like home. I do think I'll return one day.

Prim I Am.

This Danish label began in 2008. A mix of clean cuts, fresh colours and simple designs. They have just collaborated with Topshop and will be featuring in the London Oxford Street store.

How would you best sum up your design ethos?
Good quality, attention to detail, organic materials and affordable too!

What's your favourite thing about your job?
Doing what we love doing every day, being creative and working with wonderful people!

If you had to pick one favourite piece from your current collection, which would it be? 
We have many favourites, but if I had to pick I would say either the sexy Bounce dress or the very soft Allure t-shirt in organic cotton. Or the denim shorts, Blast, which I love the fit of.

Where's the best place in the world?
Copenhagen in the summertime!

What are your must-see London spots?
We love Covent Garden and all the small shops and cafés.

What can you absolutely not live without this summer?
Wedges, denim shorts and tank tops.

Chanel's Summer 2010 collection does the job. Choose from a selection of pop bright colours. The sheer neon gloss has UV qualities and looks great over the same coloured lipstick.

Lucian Freud, l'Atélier @ Centre Pompidou, Paris.

Born in 1922 and now aged 88, Lucian Freud (a relative of Sigmund) makes up part of the "London School" along with Francis Bacon. 


An "idiosyncratic realist" Freud paints people like an actor acts a character, he wants to portray them as they really are. This lends itself to a kind of oops-I-just-walked-in-on-something-I-shouldn't-have quality in his work. Awkward perspective and fleshy brushstrokes form the basis of an artistic relationship between painter and, most often nude, subject.

NIKITA.

The other day I sat down to watch Nikita (my interest in the 'femme fatale' as a potential dissertation topic in the back of my mind). I went on to watch what I didn't expect. 


Nikita is a raw, to-the-point and heavy insight into the life of a 17-year-old girl, Nikita, who starts life on the wrong foot and is encouraged to be a private detective killer after a serious run in with the law. The film documents her struggle through training and her development from mannish tigress to beautiful seductress, in a makeover you'd never think possible. The film drags you through horror, emotion and surprise and leaves you dangling. The retro quality of both the cinematic technique and styling are appealing and just 'work'. Definitely one to watch.
