New Faces: Bambi

I've posted about Bambi before see here, but thought this photo was beautiful. She has a really unique look and will go very far in this industry as she is versatile - equally androgynous and highly feminine.

Copycat: Colour Blocking - best foot forward

You can't go wrong with colour blocking your feet. It's a tame way to take on the daring trend and looks really striking teamed with a neutral outfit.

Skirts: comeback of the season

Skirts are everywhere. Mini, midi, maxi, you name it. I love the tomato red trend, see an article I wrote for the Durham One on the colour here. The bright skirt looks best played down with a pale or white top half à la Jil Sander. Skirts are a great alternative to trousers for summer as they are easier to wear, lighter and more feminine. Wearing a bright colour on your bottom half is the easiest way to work the colour blocking trend if you're not sure if the colour suits you or not.

Because the sun is shining...

Everyone's been talking about the beautiful weather today...I missed most of it tied to my desk at the library doing a job application and uni work. Managed to catch a glimpse of it this evening though. Is summer finally here at last? Can't wait to feel the warm sun on my back, there's nothing better! What better way to dress in the transition from Spring to Summer? Blush and stone colours in loose-fitting Spring blouses and city shorts finished off with a gorgeous pair of chunky heels...vivement l'été!

Josephine de la Baume for ASOS magazine

I always love ASOS magazine, but this is the best, and most beautiful, art direction I've seen from them. Effortlessly simple and totally right for Spring it complements the elegant and floaty styling and jars, ironically, with the playfully named editorial 'La Femme Fatale'.

You can read it here!

Free People Spring/Summer 2011

Some gorgeous pieces have landed at Free People this season. I adore the long kaftans and they have a wonderful White Story section, which is bang on trend for this summer. These photos from their site make me want to go straight to a beach and lie there for a very long time...(in my dreams).

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie gets it right again. I found a dress like this in a charity shop the other day, wishing I'd bought it now. I love the maxi length but the sheer bottom half makes it interesting.

Copycat: white trend

Topshop Premium £36
How gorgeous are these white lace shorts from Topshop Premium. Their length means they will provide a decent cover up for daily wear and will flatter most leg shapes. They would also look lovely with a long t shirt layered over the top, letting the lace peek out at the bottom. You can buy them here for £36.

They fit in beautifully with the white (lace and crochet) trend that was all over the catwalks this season, see my 'It's all white' blog post here.

Net-a-Porter offices

Net-a-porter office
I've always wondered what it'd be like to work at Net-a-Porter, I love their website and the editorial is excellent...Having interned at Topshop I expected it to be big, but this office is immense! I love the open plan and can imagine the buzz of working here. I really would love to work for an online fashion retailer, I think the pace must be a real challenge and I like the instantaneous nature of working on the internet. You can make a mark or create a buzz around something in seconds, with just a simple picture!

Check out the development of the offices with the design company Studio Fibre here!

John Lewis Spring 2011 campaignfeaturing Coco Rocha

Coco Rocha has been brought in for the latest John Lewis fashion campaign (I always seem to blog about John Lewis's ads, but I think they really get it right every time). This time, the Spring campaign was shot in snowy Prague! In the videos Coco talks of being freezing in skimpy dresses while a snowstorm blew outside (they filmed in December)....Elegant Mad-Men styling and a beautiful set design and photography combine to make a very strong and credible campaign for the department store.

PLUS...news has just landed that they are going to offer a timeless refund, this can only be a good thing!

All of this coincides with the magnificent launch of her new website which tracks her model success to date. You can find it here!

Pleats please!

River Island £25

I've been blogging about pleats for weeks. But there's something just so feminine and playful about these flirty skirts. This cream one from River Island would be gorgeous layered with thick tights like in the Guardian editorial I blogged about here and a silky shirt.

It would also look good in the summer months styled like the girls from Never Fully Dressed on ASOS marketplace, my new and exciting find. (It's like a posh version of eBay with streetstyle item photos and, seemingly, no catches!).
